EPIC! :D
That’s It For This Week Folks!
Thank you so much for reading. I hope you really enjoyed this week’s posts as much as I did haha! I leave you with a pic of my nails I painted for the concert. I took this picture the next day and I reckon they held up pretty well!
Also, couldn’t resist throwing in a collage I made of me and the teddy bear modelling the King Leather Thong haha! Good times!
Thanks again for reading!
Rock On, You Beautiful World!

And I also made myself a bad ass denim vest for the concert. I cut off the sleeves of an old jean jacket, bleached it, made my very own customized Canada Flag patch, and sewed on some other patches, and pinned on some buttons & studs. I also made a Lushotology t-shirt for me and my friend to wear at the concert hehehe.
He wore it! He freakin wore it! My life is complete hehe. So happy, I’m STILL on a bit of a high from that epicness right there.
I held on to the barricade for dear life during the entire concert. And when Green Day started playing King For A Day I whipped the thong out of my purse and held it up. Billie Joe motioned to throw it and like a boomerang the disco balls spun the thong around to the ground and we were all like “NOOOOOO!!!!!” haha as you could imagine! But yes a security guard promptly picked it up, handed it to Billie Joe and voilà! The rest is history. Love it, absolutely amazing, epicnessissity at it’s best right there!♡
I wanted to make the thong a sort of one size fits all dealio so I made the back nice and stretchy with an elastic band. And it is actually really comfy hehe. I of course tried it on during the process of creating this work of art! But aside from me, at first, I didn’t have a model, so I used my dog’s teddy bear, hah! Various family & friends tried it on as well for good measure. I told them “Get your fill, you may never see this again!” Here’s me wearing it and my bestest friend in the whole world modelling the King Leather Thong on an empty GO train on our way to the ACC in the early morning hehehe. :)
I also sewed a couple patches on the inside, as you can see. I mean, of course, after all that work, I had to take credit for it haha! And of course I had to send Billie Joe my love because he is my hero! Green Day made me proud to be a freak and I’m forever grateful for the music they made which changed my life, introduced me to rock and made me fall in love with music. ♡
Hello You Beautiful World! I’ve been keeping busy working on a few projects for the most epic Green Day concert I’ve even been to. And I shall tell you my story!
So, after my last Green Day concert in 2010 I invisioned this King Leather Thong idea. It’s inspired by Green Day’s awesome song called King For A Day. It goes “King for a day, princess by dawn. King for a day, in a leather thong.” I made it my mission to create this thong, as you can see in the original sketch, for Billie Joe to wear on stage when he’s singing the song.
It took a few weeks here and there to brainstorm, find the materials, cut, sew and glue everything together. The materials included a leather skirt from good ol’ Value Village, stretchy undies from good ol’ Walmart, stretchy elastic band, and ping pong balls + scrap sequin fabric.
Thank you for reading! I’ve got some projects in the works so things should get interesting. At least more interesting than usual! Stay tuned, you beautiful people!
Cheers,
Sarah♥
Needless to say we were all very thrilled with this audition video haha! Here’s a link where you can vote for Ang & watch the video—> http://www.muchmusic.com/vjsearch/profile/angela-maragozidis/341169/
She is seriously entertaining. I mean, I don’t watch Much Music anymore, but I WOULD if she were hosting it! I’ve known the girl since kindergarden so I can vouch for her awesomeness :) So please vote for her, thank you.
The skit is a sort of reenactment of Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech. Except I, Sarah Kennedy, am accepting the VJ award, and Angela’s friend decides to ruin my moment hah! Here’s a couple photos of us in front of the ol’green screen, Kanye interrupting me, and dropping the mic!
